Incentive programmes present themselves in a number of guises, but can be split into two general types, Short Term Incentives (STIs) and Long Term Rewards (LTRs). Each type can work on their own stand alone merits or in conjunction with the other. Both types are important tools for helping companies boost moral, staff retention and turnover.
Short Term Incentives
What are STIs?
STIs are used as a measure of the staffs’ achievements for doing their jobs to the highest standards and uses motivational and holistic approaches.
Long Term Rewards
What are LTRs
LTRs are rewards to staff who exceed their job description and bring more to their job, their team and the company. LTRs measure the elements of a job that are not measurable in a box ticking statistical way but which are still very real components of the job.
